The second-hand marketplace Users Express Anger Over Size Modifications
Members of the platform have expressed outrage following a change that caused listings displaying inaccurate size information.
This online marketplace has altered its sizing categories for women's and children's clothes but did not contact all shoppers about the modification.
Online Platforms Backlash
Numerous buyers and vendors are posting online saying Vinted listings now show a modified sizing category than originally posted as a result of the reclassification.
Vinted explained the new system was more in line with other platforms.
The platform has recommended to check their listings and manually change the size if necessary, causing user dissatisfaction.
Measurement Approach Modifications
Before the change, the sizing featured numerical and alphabetical indicators, like S/8 or M/10.
The updated approach includes a letter and a range like S/UK 8-10.
In some cases, the measurements have been reclassified - such as a large size was formerly size 12 but now shows as UK 16-18.

Frankie Bridger, who creates plus-size fashion videos, explained the modification "makes transactions more difficult".
"Few clothing companies classify XL as 20-22," the way the service now categorizes.
Another user, from Glasgow, explained products she uploaded with size 14 tags were appearing on the platform as larger sizing 20-22.
"Should someone sized 20-22 purchase these they're going to be very disappointed," she said.
Manual Updates
A different user, based in Derby, said she had been left angered due to the update requiring manual adjustment the sizes on "every single listing".
"This situation is especially annoying, as I'm chronically ill and platform income has been essential after experiencing income reduction," she explained.
Marketplace Information
The service features exceeding 100 million members, with 18 million British users.
It has proved a popular alternative to second-hand platforms like eBay and Depop.
This isn't the first time where an unanticipated change within the service has received backlash: previously, Vinted reversed a change regarding delivery choices due to shopper criticism.
